Thank You Cards

Hey y'all! Just another quick post today to share a pair of thank you cards I made for the Snip n'Stick Challenge over at a Blog Named Hero.  I have been making a pile of thank cards to give as a gift to a friend who is having a baby soon. I thought she might appreciate having a few cards on hand to thank people for baby gifts, etc. My card was inspired by this card by Jen McGuire. I loved the way she took the new background stamp from Hero Arts and cut it apart to make strips. I used this awesome woodgrain cardstock from Studio Calico as my base. I love that the textured background gave the card a little interest without being too busy. I linked all the products below, thanks for stopping by!

Handmade Valentines-Part One

Happy Monday, y'all!

This weekend I had a very creative surge and made a whole bunch of cards! I haven't had much to scrapbook lately, so I think this satisfies my urge to play around with paper.  Be warned-I'm going to post a LOT this week (I hope that a good thing!). Today I wanted to share these cute little Valentines I made for two little boys who are dear to my heart. I was inspired by my new stamp set and this challenge over at Lanwscaping Challenges

Check it out:

supplies: Lawn Fawn Here's The Scoop Stamp, Hero Arts Dots & Stripes Background, washi tape (from my stash-random), Black Staz-On ink, Hero Arts chalk ink, colored pencils, cardstock from my stash

To create the background I stamped a trio of pieces from the Lawn Fawn set, then stamped them again on Post it notes, used the Post-it as a mask. I inked one of my most used background stamps with two colors of chalk ink, overlapping them. I then stamped that to make the fun background! I then added the sentiments. I did both cards basically the same, just played around with images.

A little close up, I am not the world's best stamper, so there are some flaws...

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back soon,

Michelle

Handmade Valentines-Part Two

Hey y'all! Thanks for coming back and joining me for part two of my handmade Valentines for this year. I'm not a handmade Christmas card kind of girl. In fact, the idea of making 60 of one project kinda makes me want to gag. It seems a little too close to work, not fun.

But, twice a year (Valentines and Halloween) I do like to send out a few cards to the peeps I am closest too. Kind of a surprise I'm thinking about you kind of thing. And I make about 15.....and that's probably my limit. By the time I finish the last one I am SO ready to move onto something else.

What I love about Valentines Day, what inspires what I make are the colors. Pink has always been one of my favorite colors, and I lovelove it paired with red and maybe silver or white. I LOVE putting these cards together. The fact that my friends and family get a little surprise int he mail to tell them how much I love them-icing on the cake.

So, here are the cards I made this year. Basically the same design, colors, products, but each one is a little different. so fun! I linked the products below, if you are inspired to make some yourself!

Gimme.

For the past few weeks the interwebs have been buzzing with new scrapbooking products. I thought I would share a few things that are making me all giddy-budget allowing, these will all have a happy home with me. (Actually, some of them already have ; ) )

Enjoy!

#1: Stamps from a new company: Mama Elephant (this would fall under the category of 'already impulsed purchased....hehe)

#2: Two new collections from one of my favorite companies: Elles' Studio:

Day to Day (I love these little journalling cards!)
this collection just arrived in their shop. Elle's Studio is the #1 product I reach for when filling in the PL pages of my scrapbooks.

Serendipity (I love LOVE the colors in this line. I'm gonna need it all. It's not available until March-boo.)

#3 The Snippets Line from Studio Calico. Again, the colors and patterns got me (I am kind of a sucker for the right pink patterned paper). Check out these BEEEUUUtiful papers:

and these speech bubbles. I need them-bad!

#4: Another favorite company, Lawn Fawn. Her stamps to me are just the right amount of cute. Not too cutesy, knowwhatimean? They have several new stamps sets coming in March. You can see them here.

Two that I NEED are:

#5: Lucky Charm from Dear Lizzy. I gotta have it-ALL!
Sorry this picture is not great, go here to see the whole thing.

Last, but not least:

#6. Chipboard for my Silhouette. I could make this:

That's it!

Now, go-shop

Is there anything you are super excited about from CHA? Leave a message!

Aquarius Birthday Cards

I am in love-with a new stamp company.

Mama Elephant is new to me, and their stamps are killing me (and my wallet). I already own 4 sets (more on that in the next post), and I wanted to do a quick share of 2 cards I recently made with them.

Have you ever had a project in mind and then when you made it, it was exactly as awesome as you thought it would be. That's how I feel about these cards. I ordered the stamps here, then I stalked tracked USPS.com while my package slooowwwly made its way to me. All the while, I daydreamed about all the awesome cards I would fashion together and how my friends would squeal with delight (ok, maybe I made that last part up). Then, they finally arrived-a stuffed manila envelope of stampy goodness. I made these two cards right then and there (no kidding, I was up until, like, midnight)

Next week two of my peeps have birthdays. Cosmic Love is one of my new sets, and I could not WAIT to use them! Check it out:
Aren't those girls adorable? There's 12 girls for each Zodiac sign-so I think I will be using these stamps like crazy.

The sentiments are from a companion set-Starry Night. Also see myself getting a lot of use out of that one. I cut the white background on my Silhouette, then backed by yellow, and just a touch of glassy accents. Oh, and rhinestones. A close up:

Gah! I love them. I need to make more. Who has a birthday coming up?

Later,
Michelle

other supplies: colored pencils, Freckled Fawn washi tape #1 & #2 (neon dot line, now sold out), Black Staz-On, rhinestones
