A Cancer Birthday Card- Mama Elephant

This might be my favorite card I've made in a long time. I knew which stamps I wanted to use-my new Mama Elephant stamps, I pulled out some papers I liked and played around. I imagined it totally differently in my head, but, well- it just kind of came together. I picked up the washi tape and thought it would look cool as the background.....and there it went. This color combination is kind of odd, but I love it!!
supplies: Mama Elephant stamps- Cosmic Stars and Starry Night , Black Staz On, Studio Calico wood veneer and blue washi tape, Kesi'art-paper, Freckled Fawn- graywashi tape, Glossy Accents, colored pencil

Thanks for stopping by, Happy Monday!!

Checking In On New Years Resolutions

Umm, how is it July already? I feel like this year has just flown by (doesn't everyone say that?) I had a lovely, laid back 4th of July and took the opportunity to check in on the resolutions I shared in this post. In case you're interested (and to motivate myself) I thought I would share my progress here.

1. Finish 3 quilts- not even started. Probably will get into this in the fall (for Christmas gifts)
2. Save a nest egg towards my next trip. Ahem, moving on.......
3. Take a cooking class. Nope
4. Update my Heritage Album. No (this is starting to look bad for me!)
5. Take a new class at the gym. uh-oh
6. Host a goetta brunch. I came close, does that count? (I am so. lame.)
7. Paint something to hang on the wall. YES! I finished that this week, will share soon!
8. Read 6 non fiction books. So far, so good. I've read this one and this one. Going to this one next)
9. Go to a new thrift/antique store. Yes! I went to a new antiques fair in town and will go to another one in Northern KY later this month (I'm such an over achiever ; ) )

10. Take a road trip. I am going to Chicago next weekend! Check.
11. Redo my bathroom. I am working on this one, but holy hannah.....it's been a bear. I'll share a little about that soon.
12. Learn how to make my Grandma's noodles. Not yet

13. Take part in a new Derby event. Check! I went to two, actually.

So far I guess I'm doing alright. Writing this out makes me motivated to get on a couple (like #2 and #3).

How about you? What resolutions have you kept or are you working on?

Pin-Worthy

Hey y'all!

Are you like me, an active Pintrest pinner with dreams of lovely cooked meals, fun handmade furniture and a perfectly clean house? Then, well......who has time for all of that? Over the past few months I made an effort to try a few of the recipes I  pinned here and I thought I might share the results with you. Some great, some meh......so try them at your own risk! I would love to follow up on Pintrest, too-look me up!

(p.s. none of these are my pictures, all were taken from the original pinner and noted. I have a hard enough time keeping the food from burning to stop and take pictures-ha!)
from Add A Pinch
#1- Spinach Artichoke Chicken
OMG, delicious. I am a HUGE fan of spinach dip, so I knew this was right up my alley. I served it over rice and seriously, I couldn't stop nibbling on the leftovers. Super fast, easy and so so good! A+
from Gimme Some Oven

#2- Pesto Pasta with Sausage and Brussel Sprouts
I love brussel sprouts. And sausage. And Pasta. This one was a winner! I didn't care for it with the pesto on it, so next time I made it I just used olive oil. So much better, in my opinion! A
from Pop Sugar
#3- Lunch Idea: Cottage Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Cucumber
Not so much a 'recipe', but I had never thought of putting this together, but, holey moley, it is so good! It's light but filling and all but the avocado and a sprinkle of pepper can be put together before hand. A+

There you go! Now, hook a sister up, what's the best thing you've found on Pintrest lately? And, look me up and let's follow each other!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!
