Shop Talk- Derby Cards in the House!

Oh yeah, it's Derby time!

Those of us who live in the Bluegrass State know all about this 'official holiday' this '2 week party for a 2 minute horse race'. We are busy dusting off our big hats, growing mint for out juleps and enjoying a really fun season around here. In this spirit I created a few sets of cards to send to fellow Derby loving friends. Actually, these cards could be used for a variety of reasons. If you like the style, but not the Derby sentiments- no problem! I can easily take that part out and add whatever you want...hello custom notecards!!

These little ladies  were inspired by my girlfriends who barely even admit to owning a baseball hat, but Derby time? They pull out the big guns. We love big, bright hats this time of year, and these fancy ladies are ready to party!

I really like this  first Fleur de Lis set because it combines some of my favorite bright colors and a graphic style that's very me. I created the background by embossing this Hero Arts background stamp over this white woodgrain paper. Then I covered it in stripes of watercolor (using my favorite Mr. Huey's as paint). Then I ironed off the clear embossing to create a flat background. That allowed me to add the fleur de lis, stitching and sentiments. Look for a bigger blog post on this next week!

This set is blank inside so easy to use for other occasions. If you don't love the Derby related sentiments on the outside-no problem! I can easily change that to sure your needs.

For The second set I took advantage of these great patterned papers with their great colors and style. They made these cards easy peasy! I diecut the fleur de lis on adhesive paper and covered in glitter. They are also blank on the inside so you can add whatever message you like! These would be great to add for a man's birthday or maybe a wedding gift?

My silks themed cards come in two unique sets. Each set includes a card in four different base colors with paper pieced jockeys and hand cut banners. I die cut all the pieces on my Silohuette and then mixed and matched them to create my little army of paper jockeys ; ) .

These cards would be PERFECT to use as invitations for your Derby party! If you want both sets (8 cards) you can save 20% by using the coupon code 'DERBYON'.
I made two sets so that you had color and style options. Looking for something similar or maybe a multiple of the same card? I do custom!!!

These little guys turned out so cute, I may have to make some for a party banner? Or maybe cake decorations?

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a bathroom remodel update......now, go SHOP!!
