Hello and welcome to the Lawn Fawn Hearts Cards for Kids Blog Hop!
We have all come together today to make cards for a wonderful cause, Cards for Kids! We hope to encourage you to also make cards for this great cause and have fun along the way, too! So please hop along with us, and leave lots of comments. Many of the bloggers (including me) will be giving away fun prizes!
If you are hopping here from Beth's blog, allow me to introduce myself: My name is Michelle Bazeley and I live in Louisville, KY. I am compulsively crafty, have a vicious sweet tooth, and this is my first blog hop! Hot Wheels and Glue Guns is a mish mash of my life, a place where I share ideas on all different crafty topics (sewing, scrapbooking, cards, crochet), lifestyle talk and tidbits about the world of disabilities. Please stop by again-I love visitors! At least hang on long enough to get to the bottom of the post, so you can see the big giveaway! ; )
Onto the main event!
My cards:
supplies: patterned paper KI Memories & Sassafrass Lass, monster stamp Daisy Bucket, How's It Goin' stamp unknown, picture perfect from Hero Arts, Copic Markers, black ink Papertrey Ink, blue ink Colorbox, brads Making Memories, white picture frame stickers K&Company, googly eyes
I love LOVE this little monster stamp! I might love him a little more with googly eyes ; ). He has seen his way onto many kid themed and funny cards. I add machine stitching to a lot of my cards, I love the dimension and extra pop they give. The card on the right was made out of an ittybitty scrap that I had to piece together and sew! lol
supplies: spray ink Tattered Ink, stamps Imaginesce (monkeys and penguin) and Technique Tuesday (branch and leaves), patterned paper (penguin card) SEI, Copic markers, kraft cardstock
These two cards involved a lot of 'play' time for me. One of my favorite ways to wind down at the end of the day is to get my hands into a project at my dining room table. For each card I stamped the background using a Hero Arts background stamp sprayed with Tattered Angels Mist. I did it because I don't have a good blue ink pad, but I kind of love they way they turned out. For the monkey card, I used masking to put two little monkeys underneath a branch with leaves. It's actually four different stamps I out together in several steps. The penguin I stamped and cut out so it looked like it was popping off the background. Coloring with Copic markers can be very relaxing....
*TOOT TOOT-GIVEAWAY TIME!* One lucky hopper will get a few of the stamps I used to make these cards. I have a lil set of monkeys, a dancing penguin ready to go to a lucky home (very clean, but slightly loved stamps; ). I really wanted to find another monster face to send along, but they were sold out at my local store. Found them on the web here. However, I DID stumble upon two of his friends that one lucky stamper will get to call their very own:
Aren't they adorable!?!
Want to win? Please indulge my love of corny jokes. I LOVE using them in cards I send to kids I know. My current fave:
One cupcake says to another while baking in an oven "Man, is it hot in here!". The other cupcake looks over and says "aaacccckkkk- a talking cupcake!"
LOL I know, hilarious! So tell me your favorite pun or corny joke (kid or adult appropriate are appreciated) and I will choose a winner on Friday at noon EST. Make sure to include your email address so I can contact you!
Thanks for hopping along with us today! Next on the hoppity hop is Jessica !
If you are lost in the hop, you can always start at the beginning at the Lawn Fawn blog.
Later, M.
