So, I have had big plans on posting, lots of fun stuff I have found to share. Alas, I am having major problems with my wireless signal (namely, it likes to hide whenever it is cloudy. ahem, it is October!). So, for now, I wanted to post a few cards I made for challenges this week. When I (re)started scrapbooking 10 years ago, I never considered myself a stamper or a card maker. I dare admit I snickered at too-cutesy or sentimental cards I saw people making.
I stand corrected. I have learned a few things about cardmaking that appeal to me.
1. It is an excellent way to use scraps of paper I already had (and saved!)
2. With my computer I can customize my cards and fill them with all the snarky sayings I want. No cute kittens or sappy poems to be found!
3. When you make a card for someone, you don't have to BUY one! The cheap in me sees this as saving money (don't remind her that we paid for all the product to get it, but I digress)
4. I can work in small snippets of time and squeeze in some creativity everyday. I am the kind of person who needs to get my hands in a project. A few days away, and I am very cranky. Making cards lets me get out a few supplies and whip up something, then clean up quickly (or not. HA!)
5. Even if a card is not my 'style', I enjoy looking at them and taking away a new idea. Someone took a lot of time and was really excited about what they created, and that is very cool. There are so many talented crafters out there, and I can see them all here on the web!
So, I am now officially a cardmaker. There, I said it, it's out there. Thanks for your support.
