A *ScRaPtAcUlAr* Weekend!

This weekend was THE FUNDRAISER. Anyone who has spoken to me for the past month knows this has been a mind and apartment consuming project.

We were trying to raise money for the newly formed Opportunity Without Limits, basically the second generation of a group I have been closely involved with for many years, Winners On Wheels. It has been a long road, and a lot of thought went into the change, but finally we felt like it was in our best interest to break off and form our own organization. Come to find out that takes money. Money for activities, t-shirts, brochures, etc, etc…What better way to raise money than gather a group of crazy wonderful scrappers for a day long crop?

What a huge success! I was really nervous the week before the event, wondering if anyone would show up, if people would have fun, and if we really would make any money? I had nothing to worry about. I should have known that when we out our minds to it, a good time will be had!

Thanks to 8 vendors, 20 scrapper, and a dozen volunteer we made $530 towards starting our new organization! WOW! (or should I say HOOT! =) ). How awesome is that?? I can’t begin to thank everyone who made this crop a success, it was such a group effort and each person who came was a HUGE part of the day! I have a few pictures to share and you can see for yourself:

It was the first crop I've been to, and I had fun and made some fun, new scrapping friends! :) I got 2 layouts done and half of a mini book I've been trying to get started for about a month now... So I'd say I was pretty productive! I hope you do Scraptacular for years to come because I'll definitely be there!

Had a great time and looking forward to the next one. It was nice having the young man there as an example of what this crop was all about. I won a nice box from Creative Memories with stickers and double punch in it. Also, the gift bag we received was the best I have ever gotten at a crop. Thanks to all the people who donated the goodies and door prizes.

I had no idea what a "crop" even was until I volunteered that afternoon. I must say a few things: 1) Michelle is awesome! 2) Lois "can do anything!" Rita & I both know this to be true! 3) Rita adventured into scrapping a wee bit and I think she liked it! We had fun! 4) Sandi is a hoot and just love hanging with her! And 5) Scrappers ROCK! Thanks for giving to a cause near and dear to our hearts!
